Local Hudson Valley Painting Ceremony

Our Bride and Groom that got married on Saturday June 3rd, 2017 had a ceremony like we have never seen before! Usually couples have a “Sand Ceremony” in which they have a big clear jar and the Bride and Groom each have their own jars of sand filled with their favorite colors. During the sand ceremony they pour their sand into the big jar and the two colors mix, which gives a meaning that they will forever be together and not separated.

Well, For Kara and Kyle, they took a different route! They had a Paint Ceremony! Instead of a big jar in the middle they had a blank canvas on an easel. Then they both, at the same time, poured their jars of paint onto the canvas so the colors would mix and drip down. This was such an interesting idea and the guests loved it! It came out to be a beautiful mixed canvas that they can now put in their home as a piece of art that means so much to them from their special day! And not to mention, their color choices were absolutely beautiful together! For the canvas they have Lime green and Teal and then Inside the ballroom Teal and White!

What did Kara and Kyle have for dinner?

They had a formal Sit Down Dinner. The menu included:

First Course: Home style Eggplant

Second Course: Mediterranean Salad

Main Course: Petite Tenderloin of Beef

Chicken Chasseur

Blackened Mahi Mahi

The guests get to choose their dinners the day of the wedding when our Wait Staff comes around to take orders!

For Dessert they had yummy Wedding Cake accompanied by Chocolate Covered Strawberries!

On behalf of all of us at the Chalet, Kara and Kyle we wish you the absolute best!

Thank you for celebrating your special day with us.

Wedding of the Month: Katherine and Johnny

Katherine and Johnny got married on April 8th 2017. He proposed to her on top of Breakneck Mountain which is located right above our venue! Luckily when they were up there, there was a photographer and they got the most amazing and breathtaking engagement photos!

This happy couple knew the Chalet was the right place for them! The bridal party got some great photo op time on our back patio in front of the waterfall. They were having so much fun as you can see….

It was  just a tad windy out that day, but they managed to have a wonderful ceremony outside! Right in front of the waterfall and all of their guests.

The reception had them dancing the night away with their friends and family. They also got to cut their beautiful magnolia cake!

And then one last peek at the brides gown just because it was absolutely stunning!

We wish you both the best from all of us here at the Chalet!

Featured Wedding of the Month: Patrick and Megan

Patrick and Megan got married here at the Chalet on February 25th, 2017. Their theme was Navy Blue and Silver.

They have their own wonderful little love story that has to do with their adorable table numbers!

Patrick proposed to Megan in front of their first Christmas tree.

So what they did was cut up the trunk of their tree to little pieces and made table numbers out of them and sealed them.

They came out so beautiful and look very trendy.

This love story is definitely one for the books! From all of us at The Chalet on the Hudson we wish you both the best of luck!

Wedding Trends: Sweetheart Table

Having a hard time thinking of how to decorate your sweetheart table? Last year we had some great decor from our creative brides and grooms! There was everything from beautiful pots of flowers to a Stanley Cup! Maybe these pictures can even help you decide on a theme. Depending on your time of year and personal interests, there is something for everyone. A couple of brides even went a little further and hung lovely lights above their tables to really make everything pop! Some were more simple and elegant with a few pumpkins for fall or eye catching spring flowers. We can not wait to see what our guests have in store for us this year! Here are some inspiration and ideas for a sweetheart table on your special day! 11425494_1090932847588389_6826677029729547095_n 11800408_1119311154750558_1018559728348135928_n 11811443_1119310324750641_3860443159191011454_n 11895971_1130601683621505_7714357610998613429_n 13925287_1352980524716952_5174924520946452081_n 14502986_1399638880051116_7932952078646903728_n 14725621_1421698757845128_1167399386167038220_n 15073346_1453266894688314_6383929767363382994_n 15170957_1456641014350902_2186314900834013274_n 15219407_1462353873779616_700711858741248321_n 15232296_1462353900446280_5785913267064851225_n 15589593_1491362727545397_3527879752192501353_n unnamed(1) unnamed(2) unnamed(4) unnamed(5) unnamed(6) unnamed(7) unnamed(8) unnamed(9) unnamed(10) unnamed(11) unnamed unnamekd(1)

Wedding Menu Planning Tips

Wedding Menu Planning Tips

The big day is soon approaching. It’s time to start planning your wedding menu. Here are some tips to make sure you have the cuisine of your dreams.

Taste. Before you make any menu decisions, do a tasting. The Inn Credible Caterers family (Chalet on the Hudson, The Clubhouse at Patriot Hills, and Inn Credible Caterers Off Premise) offers group tastings throughout the year, as well as private tastings for those unable to attend the group event. Take advantage of this opportunity to learn about how the food tastes, portion sizes, and presentation.

Personalize. Select dishes that you really love and make an impression with something unexpected. If you like comfort food, go for the shepherd’s pie. Italian food fan? Consider the San Gennaro Feast. Bacon lover? Add on a bacon station. Want to focus on local sourced? Select a Farm to Table option. Tailor the menu to your tastes, just keep in mind any dietary restrictions your guests may have.

Do you want a traditional sit down dinner, buffet, or progressive cocktail affair? If you want the meal to be the center of the event, choose a sit down dinner. More interested in mingling and dancing? A buffet or progressive cocktail affair may be a better option.

Don’t forget about the cocktails. Select a signature drink for the wedding. Or, pick one for the bride and one for the groom.

Finalize. You will want to finalize your menu one month before the wedding. And don’t worry, we are here to help you make sure everything coordinates beautifully.

Winter Wedding Appetizers
